Mochileros.co was born in 2019 during a trip to Chocó, inspired by the dream of using community tourism as an engine for economic and social development.

We started out as Mochileros X Colombia , an agency dedicated to creating backpacker-style experiences and small business development projects focused on community-based tourism in destinations like Chocó, La Guajira, the Amazon, and Peru. However, we soon realized that our purpose went beyond being tour operators: we wanted to generate a large-scale impact, change realities, and play a creative and transformative role in the tourism sector.

This dream evolved into mochileros.co, a consultancy specializing in Regenerative Tourism, collaborating with universities, NGOs, and public and private entities to build projects that regenerate territories and empower communities.

Thanks to the collective effort and the support of those who have been with us from the beginning, and especially, of course, thanks to those who joined us in the early stages, we have achieved milestones that fill us with pride, such as the Community Tourism Medal awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism for our work in developing and promoting tourist routes in the department of Chocó. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting rich, diverse, and sustainable tourist destinations, convinced that regenerative tourism is a key tool for transforming remote communities into engines of development for Colombia and Latin America.
